King Koil Mattress Company
The King Koil Mattress Company was started in 1898 by Samuel Bronstein in St. Paul, Minnesota with only six employees working in a very small factory. From there on, they've grown from a little Mom and Pop business to one of the leading manufacturers of mattresses not only in this country, but many others including Canada and Indonesia.
As they've grown, they've received many awards and have been endorsed by the International Chiropractic Association and also the Foundation for Chiropractic Education and Research.
In the beginning of the 21st century, there were many innovations in the bedding industry which brought about major changes. With more and more information emerging on the benefits of different kinds of materials, including visco elastic memory foam and other high density foam products, the company decided to reinvent itself in order to keep up with the times.
In 2004 the King Koil Mattress Company changed their name to Comfort Solutions to reflect their dedication to helping individual consumers find the best sleep surface for them. They even have a section on their website with tips on how to get a more restful night's sleep.
King Koil Comfort Solutions
Comfort Solutions now encompasses 5 different mattress brands which each have a different focus. Spine Support is the company's original product line. They are traditional innerspring mattresses which emphasize proper sleeping posture and are endorsed by chiropractors. King Koil mattress prices are the most reasonable of their offerings and are meant to be competitive with the mid-range products from big names like Simmons. The firmness levels offered are firm, plush, pillow top and euro box top.

The Perfect Contour brand is a step up in the Comfort Solutions product line. They place special importance on cradling the body and reducing pressure points. Their goal is to stop you from tossing and turning thus allowing a better night's sleep. They're available with both all foam construction as well as premium innersprings in the base layer.
The Perfect Contour foam collection is called Reaction. This is because their foam is meant to respond or react to each users individual needs. This King Koil foam mattress is available in both natural latex and NASA memory foam. They say they're more durable and conforming because of the lack of coiled springs.
XL Extended Life
The XL Extended Life models are built for larger people who need a stronger King Koil mattress with better support. Regular mattresses tend to fall apart much quicker under bigger weight loads. The innersprings used here are made from heavier gauge steel and are interlocking rather than individually pocketed which greatly increases their strength and durability.
The comfort layers use three different types of foam including King Koil latex and memory foam as well as a specially designed extended life foam which is more resilient and has good firm support. These mattresses also come with an extended 20 year warranty. The available sizes are King, Queen, Full and Twin and the firmness choices are firm, extra firm and luxury firm.
The Laura Ashley brand is Comfort Solutions designer bedding line similar to Serta Vera Wang mattresses. They feature creative and elegant themes with unique patterns which you won't find anywhere else. They're specifically targeted toward women with a flair for style and are available in basic models or the more expensive Laura Ashley Luxury and Elite product lines.
Finally there is King Koil Natural Response which is their top of the line luxury brand. They use advanced bedding technology and only the finest materials and fabrics. The company developed a new type of synthetic latex called Ventilex which is supposed to be able to regulate body temperature and keep you more comfortable while eliminating pressure points. They're meant to be very pampering and are, of course, quite expensive.
All mattresses come in a variety of sizes, from Single or Twin to Queen and King, as well as choices of firmness including firm, plush, pillow top, and Euro box top. Also, most come with a firm box style edging which prevents sagging on the end of the mattress. This is a good idea because even after years of use it won't feel like you're going to slide off the edge.
When buying a mattress, regardless of the brand, there are things you need to keep in mind. For example, no matter what type of mattress you choose, coiled spring, memory foam or even air chamber technology, make sure it will properly support your spine.
It should also be made from the highest quality materials with all the seams double stitched and very sturdy. Make sure there's a warranty of at least ten years, the more the better, and don't forget to read the fine print or you may be in for some surprises in the event you ever need to use it. This will ensure the mattress you choose will hold up over time.
With all the stress we find in our lives, it's very important to get a good night's sleep. Purchasing a mattress is a big investment and shouldn't be taken lightly. You'll want to do your homework, educating yourself on the types available as well as the pros and cons of each manufacturer, and really take your time. While there are many quality websites selling the King Koil mattress online, it's a good idea to visit a local store, if only to be able to see first hand the products available and test them out. You should definitely spend some time laying on them in order to get a feel for what you like.
